Rock The House
After realizing the need for all our members to play out more often, we came up with Rock The House. Rock The House is exactly what it sounds like, students rocking out in front of their friends and family in their own home. This environment is typically a lot easier for younger rockstars to break into since they usually know everyone in the crowd, and the crowd size is limited to however many people you know or can fit in your living room. Depending on how fast a student learns, they usually can Rock The House every 3-4 months.
Going Acoustic
Our Going Acoustic gigs explore the softer side of music with purely acoustic guitars, vocals, and some percussion. Going Acoustic is the perfect gig for those who enjoy lighter music, acoustic guitar arrangements, or for anyone who wants to perform complete sets of songs (10 or more). These gigs allow our intermediate and advanced rockstars to learn the ropes of setting up, performing, public relations, tearing it all down, and analyzing it all later. With more songs comes more responsibility, but fortunately for our members, our instructors are there to guide you through each step.
RecitalThatRocks
RecitalThatRocks is an annual, public gig where students rock out in front of live audiences ranging from 50-100 people with a full band including drums, bass, rhythm and lead guitar, vocals, and backup vocals playing behind them. Each student picks between 3-5 songs, invites all their friends and family, and tears it up on guitar or bass at It's A Grind. A serious gig for the serious performer.
AIDs Walk
The absolute king of our public performances. Imagine rockin out on a 20 foot by 10 foot stage in front of over 1,000 people or more playing 10-15 songs. Fortunately for our members, it isn't a dream, it's a reality. These gigs are usually offered only once or twice a year to only one student per show and the slot is coveted. If you've got the guts, the gear and you're looking to be a pro in the industry, or want to know what it really feels like to rock thousands of faces
Mix It Up!
After many years searching for the perfect way to get our music community to interact, we've finally figured it out. A Mixer! Mix It Up! allows our young rockstars to hang out, make friends and network with other young rockstars in a comfortable, relaxed environment. There's really no better friend than one who plays guitar.
For each event, there is no need to petition or sign-up since our instructors will judge a student's ability and competence and match the right gig for them. In a sense, we'll offer the gig when you're ready. None of our students are ever forced to perform or attend anything as everything is completely voluntary. Just know this, once you've gigged, you'll immediately be infected by the gig bug and may not want to stop. If you experience dreams of being a rockstar, tremors, periods of intense practice, heightened awareness, or other symptoms, you should stop what you're doing and call your instructor to schedule the next gig immediately.
